Day’s Itinerary
Get PricesOslo
Your Scandinavian rail adventure begins today with a flight from the UK to Norway’s vibrant capital, Oslo. Upon arrival, make your way to your hotel and settle in for the night. Depending on your arrival time, take the opportunity to enjoy a short stroll through this modern yet historic city — perhaps along the waterfront at Aker Brygge or a visit to the iconic Oslo Opera House. Relax ahead of your exciting journey through the heart of Norway. (Overnight in Oslo)

Flåm
This morning, board the scenic Bergen Railway from Oslo and enjoy a breathtaking journey across Norway’s mountainous heart. On arrival at Myrdal, change to the legendary Flåm Railway , one of the steepest and most picturesque train lines in the world. Descend through spectacular fjord landscapes, past cascading waterfalls and alpine hamlets, before arriving in the charming village of Flåm. The rest of the day is yours to relax and soak in the serene surroundings of the Aurlandsfjord. (Overnight in Flåm).

Bergen
Today promises some of the most breathtaking scenery of your journey. Board a cruise from Flåm and glide through the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, a dramatic fjord renowned for its narrow passageways, towering cliffs, and cascading waterfalls. Arriving in Gudvangen, continue by bus through the stunning Nærøydalen valley before catching the train from Voss to Bergen. Norway’s second-largest city awaits, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by colourful wooden houses, fjord views, and coastal charm. (Overnight in Bergen).

Alesund
Begin your day with a scenic coastal cruise from Bergen to Måløy, passing rugged shorelines, remote islands, and charming fishing villages along the way. From Måløy, continue by bus through the dramatic landscapes of Nordfjordeid, travelling deep into the fjord region. Your journey ends in the Art Nouveau city of Ålesund, where you'll spend the night surrounded by elegant architecture and sea views. (Overnight in Alesund).

Geiranger
Today’s journey is a true highlight as you set sail on a spectacular fjord cruise from Ålesund to Geiranger. Glide through the crystal-clear waters of the Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its steep cliffs, tumbling waterfalls, and unspoiled natural beauty. As you cruise past landmarks such as the Seven Sisters and Suitor waterfalls, take in the awe-inspiring scenery that defines Norway’s fjordlands. Upon arrival in the peaceful village of Geiranger, nestled at the fjord’s end, enjoy time to soak up the views or take a gentle walk along the waterfront.

Andalsnes
Today’s journey takes you on a breathtaking bus tour from Geiranger to Åndalsnes, winding through some of Norway’s most iconic landscapes. Marvel at the panoramic views of the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord, climb the dramatic Eagle Road, and descend the twisting Trollstigen pass. Arrive in Åndalsnes, a peaceful fjord town surrounded by towering peaks, for your overnight stay. (Overnight in Andalsnes).

Oslo
Begin your day with another stunning fjord cruise, this time sailing from Geiranger back to Åndalsnes, offering a fresh perspective on the majestic Geirangerfjord and its dramatic cliffs and waterfalls. Sit back and enjoy the serene scenery as you cruise through one of the world’s most iconic landscapes. From Åndalsnes, board the Rauma Railway once again for a final chance to admire its spectacular views on the journey to Dombås. Here, connect to the Dovre Railway for a comfortable and scenic ride back to Oslo, travelling through mountain plateaus, deep forests, and river valleys.
