Take in iconic sights such as Edinburgh Castle, perched high on an extinct volcano, and the historic Royal Mile, lined with charming shops, pubs, and historic buildings. Marvel at the grandeur of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland, and discover the fascinating history of Arthur’s Seat, an ancient volcano and now a popular hiking spot with breathtaking views of the city.

Hop on and off the bus at your leisure, exploring Edinburgh’s rich blend of old-world charm and modern attractions. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, this flexible tour ensures you don’t miss a thing.

After a day of exploration, you’ll spend the night in Edinburgh, ready for another exciting day tomorrow! (Overnight in Edinburgh)

Day 3 – Loch Lomond

Your journey today takes you through the historic grace of Linlithgowshire. Your guide will help you spot Linlithgow palace, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots.

On the way to Loch Lomond, you stop at the Kelpies Monument. These two horses’ heads stand as a testament to the horsepower that drove the industrial development of Central Scotland.

From here you head to the shores of Loch Lomond, which is Scotland’s largest loch and is protected as Scotland’s first National Park.

This is the perfect place to enjoy a walk along the ‘bonny banks’ and take in fantastic views of the mountains. This tranquil area was once the home of Scotland’s famous highland folk hero, Rob Roy MacGregor. By spending time on the trails by the loch you’ll be walking in the footsteps of one of Scotland’s greatest legends.

You then head into the Trossachs or ‘The Highlands in Miniature’, where the Lowlands meet the Highlands. Steep mountains, shimmering lochs, and thick forests: this area is stunning.

You stop for lunch in the heart of the National Park then continue to the city of Stirling where you can visit one of Scotland’s most magnificent castles*. You can choose to take in the views from inside and understand why this castle was so instrumental in Scottish history.

From here our short journey back to Edinburgh passes the Kelpies once again before arriving back in the capital. (Overnight in Edinburgh).

Day 4 – Edinburgh

Today, enjoy a full day to explore the enchanting city of Edinburgh at your own pace. With its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant culture, there’s something for everyone in Scotland’s capital.

You could take a leisurely stroll down the Royal Mile, lined with quaint shops, charming cafes, and historic landmarks. Visit the Edinburgh Castle, perched on an ancient volcanic rock, and explore its centuries-old history. Wander through the beautiful Princess Street Gardens or enjoy panoramic views from Arthur’s Seat, an extinct volcano that offers spectacular views over the city.

For art lovers, the National Galleries of Scotland are a must-see, home to impressive collections of Scottish and international art. Alternatively, immerse yourself in the city’s literary heritage by visiting sites linked to Sir Walter Scott or the Writer’s Museum.

With a wide selection of restaurants and pubs, you’ll have no trouble finding the perfect spot to enjoy some local fare, whether it’s a hearty Scottish meal or a lighter bite.

The day is yours to create your own adventure, with plenty of time to experience all that makes Edinburgh so special. Your overnight stay gives you the perfect opportunity to unwind before the next leg of your journey. (Overnight in Edinburgh)
