ST JOHN'S

Antigua's capital, St John's, has an abundant history with a mix of West Indian-style houses and British colonial buildings. Home to Nelson's Dockyard National Park, inscribed as a World Heritage Site, the park is a beautifully restored Georgian naval base combining history, heritage, beaches and sailing. The harbourside is alive with restaurants serving freshly-caught seafood such as lobster, oysters and red snapper.

The colourful shop fronts in the Heritage Quay Complex in St John's are a shopaholic's paradise, packed with duty-free bargains, from jewellery to designer clothes and bags. CLOGGYS, SAILORS AND DANCING 

The Shirley Heights 'jump up' kicks off every Sunday at 4pm. The island's best steel bands put on an excellent performance that will have you dancing with the locals. Enjoy the local barbecue serving delicious grilled seafood and watch the gorgeous sunset over the English and Falmouth Harbours with some rum punch! 

English Harbour is the place to head for some evening entertainment. The famous 'Cloggy's' bar is located at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina. The Lime Lounge, also located in English Harbour, is a popular bar, with crowds often spilling onto the street to catch the live bands, dancing and cocktails.
