FIVE AMAZING EXPERIENCES IN LAS VEGAS
Filled with spectacular shows, glitzy casinos, incredible gastronomy and world-class shopping, Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world, and rightly so. There is a plethora of things to see and do when on a trip to Sin City, so much so that it can often feel overwhelming. Don’t worry though, we’ve condensed some of the Vegas ‘must-dos’ into a bitesize top five of experiences that should be at the top of your to-do list…
VISIT CAESAR’S PALACE CASINO
Caesar’s Palace is a luxurious hotel and casino located on the west-side of the Las Vegas strip, and synonymous with the big, bright lights of the gambling scene here. You’ll have spotted this famous name in many a Hollywood movie or tv show, and its not hard to see why. It’s filled with Greco-Roman statues, incredible mosaics and murals, opulent furnishings, and its casino has been a staple in Las Vegas since the 1960s. Caesar’s Palace certainly stands out in amongst the casino-elite, and for that reason is a must-visit!
RIDE A GONDOLA AT THE VENETIAN
You’d be forgiven for walking into the Venetian and thinking you’d stepped foot into THE St. Mark’s Square, but alas it’s just a very well-designed replica in the heart of Las Vegas. Lose yourself amongst the Grand Canal boutiques, admire the incredible architecture and wander of the Rialto bridge. Of course, no trip to Venice is complete without a ride on a famous Gondola boat. There are two options at the Venetian, an outside gondola ride, or inside. Depending on your preference, outside is the smarter choice as you’re slightly further from any tourist crowds, but it is of course weather permitting! Whichever you choose, you can be sure you will be supremely serenaded just like you would along the real canals of Venice!
VISIT THE HOOVER DAM
This famous landmark epitomises the Great Depression. Constructed during a time of economic instability and born from the dreams of those wishing to have a secure, year-round water supply, the Hoover Dam is an incredible feat of engineering and is a must-see when visiting Las Vegas. The Hoover Dam is located around a 45min drive from the centre of Las Vegas and gives you an opportunity to experience some of Nevada’s incredible desert landscapes. The photo opportunities here are endless!
HIKE ANTELOPE CANYON
A few hours outside of Las Vegas, lies Antelope Canyon, one of the most picturesque canyons in the world. Rather aptly, a ‘slot canyon’, Antelope is a long narrow channel, filled with sheer rock walls, and is the most-visited slot canyon in the world, and it’s easy to see why. It is an Instagrammers dream! Named after the antelopes that once roamed here, the Antelope Canyon was formed from years of water and wind erosion, and offers up a chance for some peace and tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of the Vegas strip.
WALK THE GRAND CANYON SKYWALK
No visit to Sin City would be complete without ticking off the Grand Canyon! Just 3 hours from the heart of Las Vegas, this monumental canyon is well worth the trip. This canyon is so large it traverses 4 states: Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. This geological phenomenon can also be experienced in a different way, but it’s not for those who shy away from high places! The horseshoe-shaped Grand Canyon skywalk is a glass bridge, which gives you the chance to enjoy some of the most fantastic views 4,000 feet below! It will quite literally take your breath away!
